Space information goes out of date rather quickly these days but besides poor Pluto, this book has great information that is good for kids or someone who just wants to know a little about everything in our universe. Great illustrations and pictures that accentuate the written material.
This book is useful and beautiful and durable.Durable first. This is a soft cover book, but the cover has been plasticized somehow -- it resists rips and tears.Beautiful. It is full of full-color photographs -- all the planets and moons. Also computer-generated thermal imagery and colorized photographs from moon missions and Mars missions.Useful. Stars & PLanets includes information about the solar system, plus a handy page on the phases of the moon, info on the physics of the Big Bang theory, many many diagrams of constellations (as well as the history of their naming) and plenty about the sun, other stars, and comets.Took it with us to a friend's cabin -- nice to see and recognize more constellations. Indestructible -- it actually got a bit wet, but thanks to this awesome cover, the book wasn't damaged.
