What I likeThe only thing this book really has going for it is the pictures and the fact that the pictures were labeled correctly. The photos are what kept the book remotely interesting but everything else fell to the wayside.What I don't likeThe text in the book was way too small, even while using my computer it felt like I had to squint to read the text, in my opinion this isn't something that would hold a children's attention, if they can't read it or an adult has a hard time squinting to read the book, that's if you can read it, some of the time the pages and text were tough to focus on together. Last but not least another thing I wasn't too happy with was the vocabulary used in this book, antiquity, biodeverse and aparliamentary aren't really words that I'd figure a child would understand or would it hold their attention span long enough to completely understand what is being said.My experienceAs a parent I believe reading facts to my children is very important, but when I can't really read the facts or if I can't understand what is going on because the text isn't easy to read, then I don't feel comfortable reading it. This book was written okay, from what I could read, some of the text was way too small, and some blended in so well with the background it made me a little dizzy. As an adult the facts weren't even at all, exciting, nor did it make me feel like I'd want to visit the places listed.I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion
Great book for kids. This book gives kids ideas about places to see in Asia, the worlds largest and most populous continent. It's well written and the pictures are amazing. I would consider buying this for my Grandson if he were a little younger, although he loves good pictures, so may just get it for him because of the pictures. These "Around the Globe" books allows children and adults to see places they might not otherwise see such as: Cambodia to China to Dubai to India to Indonesia to Japan to Myanmar to South Korea to Thailand to Turkey to Vietnam to Laos to Hong Kong to more. I can imagine that children reading this series of books might want to see these things if their parents don't take them when children, then they might want to go as adults. It teaches the reader about culture and other races without prejudice or judgement which I find refreshing. This book is just a great book in the aspect it inspires the imagination and gives a small yet detailed blurb on each place. I appreciate this series of books immensely.As a writer it gives me a goal to reach if I choose to write as a traveler.My grandson is in 2nd grade, is an avid reader, he reads way above his school grade. He told me that vivid pictures allow him to use his imagine to transport him to another place and time. I have to admit that I've been learning lots of great information from these Around the Globe books. I first started with the Around the Globe Must See Places in Australia first and immediately jumped at the change to review other books in the series. They are informative and filled with beautiful color photographs for every county in Asia they cover. When I think of Asia all I think of are countries like China and Korea, however I never thought about all the other places in Asia like Dubai, Turkey, India, Jordan and so much more. Each portion is filled with beautiful photographs and a brief write up about each place features in the ebook. It's just enough information to get you excited about learning more about the places they shared. I know you could spend months learning about exotic places like Dubai and India. Each country has more amazing places for you to explore and learn about the cultures and the people living there. These countries are rich in natural resources and all play different parts in the world's economy.I'll be sharing all these countries and more with my children during the summer, as a dive into different cultures in the world. This book was free when I received it so it was worth it to at least check out. However the book is still an affordable price. It's a fun and easy book to read and share with your children.
