I have now bought at least 10 of these Scanimation books because their animated pictures are absolutely wonderful for children of all ages. It is a board book that is truly interactive. This particular one covers Star Wars and I bought it along with The Wizard of Oz one for birthday presents for twin one year olds. They will keep a toddler amused for hours and they cover many topics: animals, sports, comics and movies!Each book has exceptional illustrations in a format that allows the viewer to see captioned moving pictures with the turn of a page!In this delightful book we learn of Luke Skywalker's adventures in Star Wars. Although I bought this for babies, it has become the 7 year old's favorite book recently and adults have commented on what a great keepsake it is, so I guess anyone would find something great about it. I think Rufus Butler Seder is a genius!

Six months ago, I gave one of these to my 4 yo son and it's been on his nightstand ever since! He still looks at it several times a week. Here are my thoughts:PROS- Amazing design on how the animation works; pretty easy to be mesmerized by it.- Even though it's not a board book, it's still sturdy enough to allow my 1 yo to play with it.- Perfect stocking stuffer or companion gift. I bought many of these and like to include it with any Star Wars gift I give. I swear the parents love it more than the kids do.CONS- Due to the "magic" that has to occur, there really aren't that many pages and very little text.- Slightly darker than other Scanimation books I have so you'll need more room light.OVERALL- Love it! Here's a test for you: put this on your coffee table and see how many people pick this up. Lots of entertainment value.

These books are cool but many pages are just too dark!

What a neat novelty gift book for a Star Wars fan. I stumbled across this book on ebay, but found it here on Amazon for a much lower price.Bought it as a surprise for my 11 year old son, and all three of my kids enjoyed looking at it to figure out how it works.

Like other reviewers stated, it's blurry and dark.

I bought this as a gift for my nephew who lives in a home for disabled children. He can't have a TV in his room or any sort of game system, and I thought this book was a good substitute for those types of distractions since the pictures really do move and come to life. It's infinitely better than the old style moving pictures which really only gave two different pictures. This looks like actual movement and is fun to watch.

I ordered the book for my nephew who is a huge Star Wars fan. It is really interesting and fun to look at. My husband grabbed it and looked at for over 30 minutes, going back and forth between the pages. He could not believe it wasn't some kind of computerized display. I think reading about the author and how and why he created and was able to perfect the pictures makes the book even more interesting. The information is on the author's website, not with the book, which is unfortunate. The book is a great conversation piece for children, grown-ups, and Star Ward fans.

This is seriously the coolest book ever. My son (age 12) loves it.

The bread and butter of econometrics are the statistical tools of regression and time series analysis. This is the fourth edition of a highly respected and widely used text on econometric methods.The authors cover regression, correlation and least squares in Chapter 1, starting with the simplest linear regression involving a single regressor variable. This allows for an easy introduction to the basic concepts that provide the foundation for what is to come. Chapter 2 introduces the idea of using time as regressor variable. This is a natural lead-in to the more sophisticated time series models of later chapters. It presents important econometric concepts such as elasticity. It also provides some probability theory and time series theory.Multiple linear regression is then introduced in Chapter 3 along with the important concepts of partial correlation, the Gauss-Markov theorem and variable selection criteria. Also, parameter restrictions are considered in Chapter 3. Chapter 4 includes diagnostic checking of models and the trick of introducing dummy variables into the model to handle dichotomous and categorical variables.The material becomes more difficult and there is an increase in the mathematical sophistication in Chapter 5. More realistic econometric models enter the discussion and the techniques of maximum likelihood, generalized least squares and Lagrange Multipliers are needed. Instrumental variables are introduced to handle such problems as the error in variables model. The technique of two stage least squares is also introduced here. Basic time series ideas and theory were introduced in Chapter 2 but first really get exploited in Chapter 6 where the concepts of heteroscadasticity and autocorrelation are introduced. Formal univariate time domain analysis of time series including the ARIMA models and trending methods are covered in Chapter 7. More complications and advanced theory are in Chapter 8.In Chapter 9, the subject of simultaneous equations is introduced. Generalized Method of Moment methods are presented in Chapter 10 as a reasonable and simple estimation approach that is valid in large samples.Freedman, Navidi, Peters among others have pointed out that the estimators of standard error for parameters in many of the standard econometric methods depend on asymptotic theory and often are very poor for practical problem sizes. They have shown that bootstrap methods can provide much better estimates. It is therefore nice to see that these authors recognize the importance of these resampling methods They devote a full chapter to them. Chapter 11 "A Smorgasbord of Computationally Intensive Methods" covers such resampling techniques as permutation tests, the bootstrap ("nonparametric")and the parametric bootstrap and other computer-intensive methods such as nonparametric density estimation and regression.Other problems that are unique to econometrics are covered in Chapters 12 and 13. Also included are appendices on matrix algebra and basic statistics along with useful statistical tables. The book also includes a diskette with data examples in ASCII files.

During my undergraduate lectures my teachers recommended widely the book wrote by Gujarati's. I Think "Econometric Methods" would have been a wiser choice. "Econometric Methods" is more modern than Gujarati's and more understandable than Maddala's book; the book offers to the undergraduate student a very comprehensive array of topics, explained with the simplest mathematics. You won't get lost in large and illegible demonstrations. I particularly enjoyed the treatment of the autoregressive relationships: quite an improvement when compared with most of the introductory level econometric manuals. There is everything in this book, even an excellent introduction to non-parametric estimations; applied econometrists will find all modern tests and will be able to understand them fairly well and use them after a short reading, without having to spend a whole afternoon; the explanation of White variance matrix estimator is extremely intuitive. On the drawbacks I can only mention the short section referring to bootstrap, which is somehow too simplistic and readers won't really understand the subject. After using this manual, you'll feel smart, because you'll understand everything. Being one of the rare books really deserving the adjective "introductory", "Econometric Methods leads you fluidly and intuitively through the topics. A modern array of topics selection and an excellent presentation makes this manual stand out of the crowd.

This is a classical textbook in Econometrics.Other reviewers have talked about its content, so I will express my opinion only.Its audience is primarily for undergraduate students taking the first course in Econometrics. For this audience, it is difficult to find a competitor, because the book has everything you need to run a regression in a very straighforward way. That's why sometimes the book gets dry. However, it's fair to say that it is perfectly feasible to learn from it.Yes, the matrix notation make the things difficult, but there is no other way if you want to learn well Econometrics.The sequence of tests are presented very well.Although overall the 4th. edition is better than the 3rd., I think the authors should have left the chapter on matrix in the body of the book and not in the appendix.I'd say that this book is even better than Greene, and the next book to be read is Ruud.

Given my relatively weak background in econometrics and statistics, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to understand my graduate econometrics class. However, ever since I started reading from this book, I have managed to follow what my teacher is saying. The steps on how the equations are derived are explained, but without making it too easy for the reader. This textbook is a great help. No wonder this has been around for some time. Nevertheless, I was hoping that there's an answer key for the problems.

I guess this is the most complete Econometric Textbook for Undergraduated Students. Its virtue is to give a COMPLETE OVERVIEW of the most important and useful estimation, testing and diagnostic procedures, in the context of TIME SERIES, CROSS SECTION and PANEL DATA ANALYSIS, through a well-written and accessible book. It provides you not only a very good theoretical background, but many empirical applications that you can replicate using the data diskette that comes with the book.A complete reading of this book would give you a very strontg knowledge of Modern Econometrics: you can learn what an applied macro or microeconomist would need and use. This is really a great "jump" from the last edition of Econometric Methods by J. Johnston (1984)(the one I use when I was an undergraduated student). Now, I use this book to teach an undergarduated course of Econometrics at Catholic University (PUCP). My students use it a lot and also think its WONDERFUL!

I bought this book a while back (truly can not remember when) it laid it on my pile of books. Today I picked it up and started reading and realized this is a great book for eating deliciously healthy, which I already do and have tons of recipe books, but this one is special at least it appeals to me and my tastes and I bet it will to you as well. I have been plant based for 8 years and have never looked back, I do it for the planet, the animals and hey for me and my health and my family's health. I made the creamy balsamic dressing (page 236) today and have several pages with turned down ears (bookmarks always fall out) to try as soon as I get back to the grocery. Just a note of what eating plant-based can do for you as it did for me, lost 15 lbs., cholesterol went down 50 points, all my "markers" are great, lower blood pressure, no more osteoporosis (yes really), no more gerd, skin looks great (I get compliments and I'm 73), it doesn't matter your age, it will do really good things for you and your health and this happens fast. I take no medicines. I think this book is really good way to get started.

I really enjoyed this book. The information (especially the easy to follow meal plans) was easily presented and made me feel that making the leap to vegan eating was a possibility. I would definitely recommend this book to others

Just got the cookbook today and tried out the Roasted Red Pepper and Butter Nut Squash Soup because another reviewer tried it. Well, is better than I ever could have imagined! The cookbook does NOT have pictures on every page, something I usually require, but the thought of having the shopping list ready to go for the week made me go for it. You will not be disappointed with this book. The ONLY change I would make if possible, would be to break the grocery list down in sections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The way she made the list out it is all or nothing. I don't want to make breakfasts, I just do my steel-cut oatmeal every morning and for lunch eat leftovers from the night before. Soooo, went into the dinner recipes one by one and wrote it down for the week.

So far I’m loving this cookbook! The foreword was well written with the realistic approach things may need to be modified or trying out new things to make recipes work. It’s great how things are fresh and clean, instead of carb loaded or cheese covered to taste good.

Heather has some great recipes in here. The 3-week meal plan works well if you stick with it, in my opinion not hard to do because the recipes are so good. Great to add more veggies to the diet, whether you are totally plant-based or not.

This is the best vegan cookbook i’ve read. It’s full of normal foods without a bunch of fake meats and stuff. The recipes are simple and doesn’t require a ton of ingredients. I’m very happy with this purchase!

This book was amazing for making a simple, helpful, healthful, meal plan each week. The recipes are all pretty tasty and they make life easier by using leftovers for some of the following meals. The only draw back was that some ingredients/ingredient amounts were not properly listed in the weeks shopping list. They were not things that you could not by more of quickly if you needed to though. Over all an amazing book.

My husband and I are not vegans. We aren't vegetarians. We aren't even flexitarians but we are trying to be. We're trying to cut calories, eat healthier, and eat LESS (not eliminate entirely) meat and eat more plants.This book is not meant for people like us. I went in full throttle and gun ho and bought the whole first weeks worth of groceries and off we went.into hell.it was the worst week of our dietary lives.the estimated cook times on all of these seem to be under the assumption that you already have all the ingredients diced, peeled, chopped, etc. every meal always took longer than the book said it would take to make. everything is made from scratch.most of it was bland/tolerable at best and inedible to us at worst.some of the smoothies tasted good, but upon double checking the ingredients, the calorie counts given were way off. almost every time.Out of an entire weeks worth of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, there were maaaaybe 2 meals we would be willing to do again and 2 smoothie recipes I'll keep. we won't be doing a week 2.for people who are already on this path this may be great.for people who are just starting off it seemed terrible.

For those of you that are contemplating this book for your daughter!! As a mother of a VERY mature and smart 10 year old I was looking foward to her having this book! However, i was not very please with it!! At all! You as a parent NEED to know that the content is NOT as gentle as the description would have you to believe! For example, "Girls approaching puberty have lots of questions: How can they get rid of zits? "What's going on with your emotions" Peer pressure! Not only does this book address these typical puberty issues, BUT it ALSO INCLUDES a very DETAILED description of foreplay, masturbation, sex, and ANAL sex!! I guarantee that my 10 year old daughter does NOT have questions about anal sex, let alone knows what that is or that it even exists!! I may be totally naive to even think that my daughter doesn't have questions about these types of things but in my opinion, this book can do more harm than good for any child her age!! I highly recommend that any parent contemplating this book thoroughly read it for themselves first!!

I gave this book to my stepdaughter. Even though she never read it, I believe it had a lot of insightful details that any young girl should know. It was written in a style that made it relatable to the age of the reader.

I would definately read the book first, to make sure you think it's appropriate for your child. My step-daughter is nine, and there are some subjects that are a little too in depth. However, you can't keep people at school from talking about stuff, and this book has given back up to the facts behind our parental guidance.At least a few times a week she is reading it for information rather than watching TV which is a plus...and everytime she reads it, she consults her mom to make sure she understands, and what is going on. It's allowed for much more open communication in our house about what is happening and will happen as she grows up and goes through puberty.

I bought this for my granddaughter so that she could see that she's not the only one going through changes and so my daughter had something to help her explain things to her too..it has a lot of info and so far they both like it!

This is by far one of the shortest books I have ever bought for $8.00. This book only gave numbers and a bunch of different websites. No explanations or nothing. Excellent read and story behind the incredible Gemiini tool. We were lucky enough to find Gemiini in late 2014. It has completely changed our lives for the better and opened the door to expressive speech. I am so grateful to Laura Kasbar and her family they are the real deal they have walked this journey and produced a tool that is affordable and accessible to everyone around the globe. I was honored to start the private user board for Down syndrome only originally in Jan 2015 but then opened up to all parents for all kids no matter diagnosis. I used per protocol we saw brain shifts first real words duck and attempt at goose per preschool game video then opened board to all special needs and met several autism moms that help us start our detox journey in May 2015 and more words phrases sentences came by 2017. Gemiini is now working better than ever with biomed protocols on board we have words phrases spontaneous speech still in process on artic but improving by the day. Our preschool slp got grant for Gemiini per her experience with it and so now our public school system has it on board and video modeling is specified in IEP. The entire Gemiini experience has been life changing for our family and community. Thank you is just not near enough! I started reading your book. As a super busy autism homeschooling mom I have very little time to read. So while I’m watching my kids in their sports class with their aba therapist guiding them through the class I have a few minutes to read your book. At least a few chapters. I had to stop because I’m sitting on a bench surround by a few other parents trying not to sob. 😭😭😭😭 You are describing every thing I felt when we first got the diagnosis. God bless you and other autism parents that blazed the trail that my kids are on. You made things so much more attainable for my two autistic kiddos. I hope we can make things easier for later generations of autistic kids. Thank you so much for all you have done for my kids and autistic kids around the world! Full disclosure: I know Laura and Brian and had a special needs brother in the 1950s and 60s when his caregivers declared him a "late bloomer," and offered him no therapy.What they have done with their kids is amazing. You would never know they were in any way challenged in a social situation which is a huge impediment to most suffering from autism, they have made their kids' autism an advantage which is truly remarkable.If you have a child, relative or sibling that shows signs of autism, I cannot encourage you enough to read this book. I have seen their therapies work, and work effectively.

This book was so wonderful. I felt like I was having coffee with a warrior mom who has been there and tried this and that. I loved hearing all the things Laura tried to help her kids and how she did it. I also really enjoyed reading about the humble beginnings of Gemiini. Highly recommend this book if you’re using Gemiini or thinking about it.

This book is useful for parents of children with any type of developmental delay. If you are already using Gemiini with your child, or are considering trying Gemiini, this book is a must read.

Excellent read. I love how she outlines all the different treatments, therapies, diet and all she has done to help her kids. It's important to understand there is no one miracle therapy or a treatment that will "fix"everything.

My daughter, a family physician, who highly recommends this book to all of her patients, gave me this book to read because I too have 7 children, like the author. I was moved by Laura's story from the beginning to end! It was truly heartfelt and touching as well as extremely insightful! All families with and without autistic children should read this book! We used the Gemiini program for over a year and it is excellent. I loved being able to read Laura's story and learn more about the why and how of this amazing program she developed.
